Campus & Training Facilities

Infrastructure of SSMT – Kalyani Campus

A close look at the classrooms, laboratories and tied-hospital facilities where students train — built to mirror real-world hospital environments from day one.

General Campus

Classrooms & Core Facilities

Classrooms: We have 4 distinct, well-ventilated lecture halls. Each classroom is featured with boards, audio-visual projectors, and comfortable seating layouts.

Administrative Wing

Dedicated offices for the Principal/Director, a staff room for faculties, and an accounting office.

Central Library

A peaceful reading hall stocking textbooks, reference guides, and national medical journals.

Basic Science Labs

Separate, foundational laboratories for Human Anatomy (featuring skeletons, models, and charts) and Physiology/Biochemistry to teach basic human systems.

Student Amenities

Separate common rooms for male and female students, clean drinking water plants, hygienic washrooms, and standard safety equipment like fire extinguishers.

Course-Specific Laboratory Infrastructure

Course-Specific Laboratory Infrastructure at SSMT Kalyani

Each diploma program mandates a specialized, fully practical setup designed to mirror real-world hospital environments.

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) Lab

The DMLT department is equipped with advanced analytical equipment split across three key pathology segments:

Pathology & HematologyEquipped with binocular microscopes, automated cell counters, centrifuges, hemocytometers, and histopathology microtomes.
Microbiology & SerologyEquipped with incubators, autoclaves for sterilization, laminar air flow benches, hot air ovens, and inoculation hoods.
BiochemistryEquipped with semi or fully-automated biochemistry analyzers, colorimeters, spectrophotometers, and digital pipettes.

Diploma in Physiotherapy (DPT) Lab

The physiotherapy setup mimics an active rehabilitation center and requires specialized machinery divided into two main zones:

Electrotherapy UnitMust feature functional Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) devices, ultrasound therapy machines, shortwave diathermy (SWD), muscle stimulators, and wax baths.
Exercise Therapy UnitMust include parallel walking bars, shoulder wheels, traction tables, posture mirrors, Swiss balls, static exercise cycles, and electronic treadmills.

Diploma in Optometry (DOPT) Lab

This lab requires precise clinical optical instruments to train students in advanced vision screening and refraction tests:

Refraction RoomFully dark-room equipped with a trial lens set, trial frames, Snellen's vision charts, auto-refractometers, and streak retinoscopes.
Ophthalmic Diagnostic UnitMust feature a slit-lamp biomicroscope, keratometers, tonometer (for intraocular pressure), and ophthalmoscopes.

Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician (DOTT) Lab

The DOTT facility requires a mock or fully running surgical theatre to train technicians in perioperative care, surgical staging, and sterile maintenance:

Mock Operation TheatreStandard surgical table, shadowless overhead OT lights, and dummy patient mannequins.
Anesthesia & Monitoring StationEquipped with a standard anesthesia workstation machine, pulse oximeters, and multipara patient monitors.
Sterilization ZoneIndustrial-grade autoclaves, fumigation apparatus, surgical scrub stations, and dedicated storage racks for sterile surgical instrument sets.
Beyond the Classroom

Hospital Affiliation & Clinical Tie-Ups

A paramedical institute cannot run purely on classroom teaching.

In-House or Tied Hospital

The institute must either have its own running hospital or a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an accredited government or private multi-specialty hospital.

Clinical Access Areas

Students have rostered access to running Pathology Labs, Outpatient Rehabilitation Departments (OPD), Ophthalmology Clinics, and Active Major/Minor Operation Theatres at tied-up hospitals during the last six months of the two-year training and during internship.

Train on real equipment, in real clinical settings.
